Milton C. Steele Pioneer of Rangely Died Grand Junction
Funeral services for Milton Clark Steele of Rangely were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the LDS Chapel at Rangely, Bishop Merrill Anderson officiated. Burial was at Rangely Cemetery under the direction of Martin's Mortuary. Mr Steele died Friday in St. Mary's hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in ill health for two years.
A resident of the Rangley area for 33 and one-half years Mr. Steele was engaged in the cattle business. Born Jan. 5, 1894, at Jackson, N.M., he spent his childhood there and in southwestern Colorado. He was married at Durango on Feb 29, 1918 to the former Doris Nichols. The couple lived in Wyoming for eight years before moving to Rangely.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother, Mrs. Harriet Roberts Steele of Rangely; two sons, Clark S.[F] Steele of Spokane, Wash., and James D. Steele of Rangely; five daughters, Mrs. Noel (Dorothy) Clements and Mrs. William (Jennie) Mott, both of Rangely, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Bagley of Grand Junction, Mrs. Elmer (June) Vaughn of Meeker, and ...[end of obit missing]
