Milton Owen Thornton was a Union Soldier in the American Civil War He was a musician for the troops. After the war in 1866, he was hung by ex-confederates He is buried near Hawkeye, Missouri There is a notation of his eye color in a couple of different places that discuss that he had blue eyes.
