About Mindell Wien
MINDELL WIEN
Longtime community volunteer Mindell Wien (nee Hirsch) died Dec. 5 at age 80. She was an active member of The Temple-Tifereth Israel and its Women’s Association, former chair of the Red Cross Blood Bank, and former head of The Community Chest. Mrs. Wien also volunteered for the University Heights PTA and True Sisters. She was valedictorian of her class at John Hay High School.
Mrs. Wien was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Marshall J. She is survived by daughters, Renee Deutsch of Tampa, Fla., Sandra Simon of North Bethesda, Md., and Barbara Adler; sons, Charles and Marc; 15 grandchildren; and sisters, Marion Sherwin and Doris Smith. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
