Minnie Cohen

COHEN, Minnie (nee Eisenstat) - has come to the end of her extraordinary life at the age of 96 on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Cedarvale Terrace. Minnie was the youngest daughter of the late Sholom and Freidel Eisenstat. Her siblings Earl, Nathan and Louis Eisenstat, and Belle Taft predeceased her. Minnie was predeceased by her husbands Bruce Taft and Albert Cohen. Mother of the late Sheila Gelman, the late Paula Taft and the late Howie Taft. Loving stepmother of Anita Cohen (Norman), Gerald Cohen (Marcia,) and Sandy Hetzroni (Roni) of Herzlia, Israel. Grandmother of Bryan (Bel), Jeffrey (Nonette) and Michael (Giancarla ); Jason, Jeffrey, Alexi and Leona; Judith (Patrick) and Joanna; Shira (Yonatan), Maytal (Guy), Matan (Gido) and Eitan. Great grandmother of Daniel, Dustin, Joshua, Isaac, Zach, Sarah and Sebastian; Zachary and Colbie, Yaara, Gaya; Ella and Shaked. Minnie was loved and cherished by her offspring, her nieces and nephews and many friends. She is especially missed by her friends Debbie Purchase and Shirley Leaf. Through her love, gratitude, humour, adventurousness, grace and generosity, she made the world a better place. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, 5822 Bathurst Street at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Ve'ahavta, 416-964- 7698.
