HERMITAGE BAPTIST CHURCH

Located on Route 17 at Route 602 at Church View, Hermitage was formed in 1789 by members of Glebe Landing Baptist Church who wished to establish a place of worship more convenient to their homes. Th e present building was erected in 1951, on the site of "Chapel of Ease," an historice 17th century structure which had been erected by Christ Church Parish for the convenience of outlying settlers. I t was destroyed by fire in 1948
