• MITCHELL CHILDRESS, SR. married (2) RACHEL HENDRIX (daughter of Garrett Hendrix) on March 4, 1815, in Knox Co, TN, and they were parents of John K. Childress who purchased land in Jackson Co, AL in 1836 and married (1) Ruth Brown Burgess in 1840 in Jackson Co, AL.
