Mitchell Staples

James Mitchell Staples, age 87, of Friendship Manor, died Friday, July 20, 1990. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech Class of 1927 in electrical engineering and was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Aylwin Hughson Staples; one stepdaughter, Jere Spotts Pounds Gilbert, New Jersey; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Norris Faville, Roanoke.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Evergreen Burial Park with the Rev. Dr. Denver J. Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chaplaincy Program of Friendship Manor. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 12:00 noon Sunday.
