Warwick MILLER m. 1762, Elizabeth PRICE, b. 6, 22, 1741; d. 4, 24, 1790; dau. of MORDECAI PRICE and ELIZABETH WHITE of Gunpowder Mo. Mtg., Md., and settled in East Caln. He was commissioned a justice of the peace, May 23, 1770. His widow m. 2, 25, 1784, Griffith Mendenhall, of E. Caln. The family tradition represents that Warwick Miller was so named from some connection with the Earl of Warwick, and this has been generally claimed to have come through his grandmother, Dorothy Haines, whose maiden name is not certainly known, though Leeds is suggested. --Gilbert Cope, comp., Genealogy of the Smedley Family (Lancaster, PA: Wickersham Printing Co., 1901), 300-302.
