https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moritz_Guggenheimer The father of Moritz Guggenheimer went to Munich 1825 as a small textile trader (linen, silk) from Harburg in the Donau-Ries. In 1855 Moritz Guggenheimer took over the paternal company Bernhard S. Guggenheimer and operated it with great success.
In 1872 he founded the Bank Brüder Guggenheimer & Co. together with his brothers Eduard and Josef. The bank was taken over 1892 by the Bavarian association bank. In 1892 until his death in 1902, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Vereinsbank.
After the Löwenbräu Brewery was converted into a stock corporation in 1872, he became Chairman of the Supervisory Board and remained in this position until his death.
From 1869 to 1873, Guggenheimer was the first chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce for Oberbayern [ As a Jew, he was also engaged in the Jewish community of Munich. Moritz Guggenheimer became a member in 1869, and in 1870 chairman of the council of municipalities, comparable to the town council. He was the first Jewish member of this body. In 1879 he resigned as head of the town council, and in 1881 he resigned his mandate after anti-Semitic accusations.
Guggenheimer were honored with the title Kommerzienrat .
