WEALTHY CAPITALIST OF ROSWELL DIES

Roswell, N.M., Oct. 10 - Morrison Garst, a well-known capitalist of this city, passed away here at St. Mary's hopsital, aged 66 years. Two brothers of the deceased were at his bedside during his last moments, one of them, Dr. Julius Garst, of Worcester, Massachusetts, is a millionaire and the owner of much property in Roswell. The other, Edward Garst, of Grand Rapids (sic), Iowa, arrived just in time to be with his brother when the end came. THE MORTUARY RECORD

Morrison Garst, eldest of the Garst boys, died Monday morning at Roswell, New Mexico. Edward and Dr. Julius Garst were at his bedside in his last hours. The deceased was about 70 years of age and one of the most genial of men, and made friends of everyone who come to know him. Most of his life was spent as a traveling salesman and for many years received the highest salary from the big shoe house Pingree & Smith. His health failing him somewhat of late years, and having made investments in New Mexico, where the climate seemed to agree with him, he located at Roswell about three years ago, where he has since resided. His numerous friends at Coon Rapids will be pained to learn of his death and that they will never again enjoy his genial greeings and interesting mind. He was a man of unusual ability, of kindly, sympathetic bearing and extremely sociable. His death is a great bereavment to his near relatives and scores of friends over the northwest who had met him in business relationship and social intercourse. His remains were interred at Roswell, New Mexico. -Coon Rapids Enterprise-
