WEXLER, Seymour Morton "Morty"
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Morty Wexler. He died peacefully and with dignity on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of eighty-six. Born in Ottawa on August 13, 1933, son of the late Jesse (Greenberg) and the late Frank Wexler. After moving to Montreal, Morty met Sylvia (Tsippy) Strolovitch, the love of his life for sixty-seven years. Devoted father of Julie and Charles Goldberg of the Berkshires, Mass., Earl and Terry Wexler of Toronto, Francine Wexler and Ben Reid. Loving Zaidie 'Skip' of Ilan and Alex, Jeremy and Paola, Blair and Arieh, Evan, Andrew and Christina, Megan and Jeremy, Mikey and Lauren, and Zara. A very proud great-grandfather of Sari, Remi, Alyson, Gretta, Lev, Rose, Sophie, Coby, and Felix. Cherished brother of Sonya Carol, and brother-in-law of Rosie and the late Sam Strohl, the late Evie and the late Myer Shrier. Morty will be missed by many, including his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Our family is truly and forever grateful for the most compassionate and loyal care given by Eliza Rimando and her team, M.J. and Armando. A big thank you to Dr. Ruby Friedman for his many acts of kindness over the past eight years. Some people have such a strong character that they seem immortal, 'Mort the Sport' was certainly one of them. Rest in Peace. A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020. Contributions in Morty's memory may be made to the "Tsippy and Morty Wexler Fund for Hope and Cope" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251 or to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal, (514) 369-0800. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons.
