Life Sketch

From the Doolittle Family in America history:

Moses Doolittle son of Ebenezer and Hannah (Hall) Doolittle was born in that part of Wallingford now Cheshire in 1702. He married (1) Lydia Richardson, March 29, 1729; (2) Ruth Hill, July 5, 1749. In 1751 he was made Ensign of the north company or train band in the parish of New Cheshire in Wallingford and in 1755 was promoted to Lieut. By the General Assembly. He died at Cheshire April 10, 1781. His will, made May 6, 1777, gives to his widow, to the children of son Thomas (deceased), four grandsons Wallingford (the children of daughter Eunice, wife of David Hotchkiss of Wallingford) to daughter Lydia and her only child, Abigail, to grandsons Titus and Andrew Hull, and others. Moses started the fund for the support of the poor in Cheshire.
