About Moses Hurt, II

"76-5B54-1765, Amelia County, Va. Elizabeth Hurt, wife of Moses Hurt, Jr. of Amelia County, joined her husband in conveying to Jacob Davis of Amelia County, 100 acres of land on Cabin Creek adjoining Wm Cross etal in Amelia County, after 1788 it was Nottoway County. This land was near the place of his father, Moses Hurt, Sr. on the north bank of the Great Nottoway River. (Note by O. H.: We do not know the family name of this Elizabeth Hurt, but she is thought to have been a daughter of Stephen Cocke who owned land adjoining the place of Moses Hurt, Sr. and who was one of the executors named in the will of Moses Hurt Sr. made in 1783.)."
