He is styled on deeds, cordwainer, yeoman and husband- man, and his descendants at Hampton say that he was a master mariner. He resided in that part of Newbury, now (1868) Newburyport, on Merrimack Street, but he sold his property in 1733, and removed to Hampton, N. H., where he left a family who became connected by marriage with some of the first families of that State.
