About Murdoch MacRae
Murdoch Macrae married the sister of Janet. His wife’s name was Mary. He took a prominent part in the skirmish at Ath nam Muileach (the ford of the men in Mull), in Glenaffric, on the second of October 1721, when the men from Kintail and Lochalsh met and repulsed the men escorted by a company of soldiers, who were coming to collect the rents on the Seaforth Estates on behalf of the Forfeited Estates Commissioners.
