About Murdoch McRae
GEDCOM Note
Murdoch migrated to Dundee Lower Canada in about 1819 and took a lease on land from the St Regis Indians. There is a letter to the Governor General in 1920 asking for assistance regarding this lease. He and Elizabeth were married in Dundee and had their first 10 children there with Anne being born there in 1852. There is no record in the Scotch Presbyterian Church Dundee of Murdoch's Baptism in 1857 so it is assumed they had moved to Avonmore Upper Canada by then. They are recoreded in Avonmore in the 1961 census but with only a few areas under cultivation.
