Obituary:- The Late Mrs. M.J. Sharpe. - Mrs. Muriel Joy Sharpe, of Rustic Cottage, who died in the County Hospital on Monday at the age of 51 after an operation, will be greatly missed in the village where she was very popular and ever willing to help with the sick. The funeral on Thursday at Carisbrooke Church was conducted by Acting Vicar of Newport ( the Rev. S. A. Wake) and the interment was at Carisbrooke Cemetery. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Minter (son-in-law and daughter), Mr J. E. Sharpe (son), Mrs. K. Frampton and Miss R. Lindsey (sisters) Mrs. J. Lindsey and Mrs. G. Lindsey ( sisters-in-law), Mr. M. Lindsey and Mr. A. Frampton, nephews, Mr. F. Edmunds, Mrs M. Kennedy, Mr. D. Kennedy, Mrs. G. Edmunds, Mrs Whitewood, the Misses Jacobs, and Mrs G. Draper ( representing the Arreton Women's Institiute, and Arreton Mothers' Union and Mrs. Pittis) The many tributes included those from the Arreton Women's Institiute, the Arreton Mothers' Union and the Merston Methodist Church. Mr. R.G.W. Reed made the arrangements.
