About Murray Cohn
There is very little information about Uncle Murray. I remember visiting with him and Aunt Frances in Toms River in the early 1950s. He let me drive the Chevy woodie station wagon around the farm. The chickens didn't like me. Murray showed me how to candle eggs and use the size sorting machine. He took me with him to deliver fresh eggs to New York restaurants in his International Harvester delivery van with a stand-up seat.
He was a good uncle to me. But I realize that he had problems with depression.
When I read the 1949 Danziger Family Circle Minutes, I realized that since Murray took his own life that nobody talked about him anymore. Frances moved to Cleveland in the early '60s, so I guess he died in the late '50s. The story I heard was that Frances found him hanging in the chicken coop.
Uncle Murray should be remembered, and I would like help reconstructing his origins and life. David Jacobowitz, January, 2014.
