Myrna (Dabrusky) Kagan, 84, of Hamden, devoted wife of 62 years to Donald Kagan, died at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Saturday, April 1, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Aug. 29, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry & Fanny (Engelson) Dabrusky. Beloved Mother of Robert Kagan(Victoria Nuland) of McLean, Va. & Frederick Kagan (Kimberly Kagan) of Washington, D.C. Dear Sister of Adele Buanantuono of Sterling, VA. Cherished Grandmother of Elena and David Kagan. A graduate of Hunter College, she earned a Masters degree in Education from Cornell University. She taught for many years in the Ithaca, NY and North Haven, CT elementary schools before moving to Ezra Academy in Woodbridge where she taught for more than 2 decades. She was also the author of two histories of New Haven: Vision in the Sky, New Haven's Early Years 1638-1783; and Puritans to Yankees, New Haven's Growing Years, 1783-1861.
