Also please note: James Basse's parents are not proved yet. We know from YDNA testing that his line is R1b-L47, and the lines of Edward's brothers John Bass 1673 and William Bass 1676 are A1a-M31. (The results from William's line are fairly new.)

So James is unlikely to be the son of Edward. His line matches the line of Richard Basse 1658 and Jane Bryant (a Nansemond line), and the line of William Basse 1618 and Sarah Batten (not a Nansemond line).
