Nahum Baldwin, son of Seth Baldwin (Seth 6, Nahum 5, Nahum 4, Isaac 3, Henry 2, Deacon Henry of Woburn 1) and Mary Evans, was b. in New Sharon, Franklin County, Maine, August 16, 1825; married January 20, 1857, with ANN W. CONNOR, in Shasta, California; she was b. September 13, 1831. He resides in Napa County, California. He died 1879; she died 1908; both buried at Saint Helena Public Cemetery, Saint Helena, Napa County, California.

Children: Albion E.(4/6/1858-5/12/1858), George F. (7/4/1859), Augustus H. (3/6/1861), Albert E. (1/23/1864-4/27/1864), Eddie Ramond (9/22/1866-12/20/1866), and John William (3/18/1869).

Independent Calistogan, September 3, 1879

DEATH OF A CITIZEN—Last Saturday afternoon, Nahum Baldwin, a respected citizen of Calistoga, died after several months sickness, aged 54 years. He was a native New Milford, Maine, and came to California in 1851, and to Calistoga from Santa Rosa in October, 1859.

The cause of his death, as found by autopsy, was a scirrhus tumor of the pyloric orifice of the stomach, and of course incurable. He suffered very much during his illness.

Mr. Baldwin was a good citizen and Christain, being a member of the Presbyterian Church. His pastor, James Mitchell, during his remarks at the services, spoke at length on this subject, complimenting in the highest terms the christain qualities of the departed brother.

The funeral took place at the late residence of the deceased, and the remains were followed to the grave in St. Helena Cemetery by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
