Information about John Brim and Nancy Quite/Quiette/Quiett/Quit...all names used....
John Brim was born near Sasser, Georgia in 1832.
This was before Florida became a state and before Suwannee became a county.
We do not know how many brothers or sisters he had. We think he left his family in Sasser, Georgia when he was about 12 years of age and came to live with Mr. Tom Quite Madison, Florida in 1844. Some years later, Tom Quite's sister-in-law and her daughter came from Tennessee to live with Mr. Tom Quite and that is how John Brim met ....
Nancy Quite. SHE WAS PART INDIAN OF THE CHEROKEE TRIBE. (One-half perhaps)
Later, John Brim and Nancy Quite were married and moved to the present location of Dowling Park. He was called into the Army and fought in the Civil War and when peace was declared, he walked home from Olu...They later moved to an area about 1 1/2 miles southeast of the present location of Clayland Church were they spent the remainder of their lives...
