About James H. Quiette
James H. Quiett alone with his brother, Thomas P. joined Captain Pillans' Company., which later became Company L, 2nd Regiment Florida Infantry, at Madison Court House, Florida on July 13, 1861 when he was 21 years old.
He was a private.
The Company rendezvoused in Jacksonville and became a part of the 5th Brigade .
He was wounded (Battle of Sharpsburg) on Sept. 17, 1862 and sent to the confederate hospital in Culpepper, Virginia (complaint - vulnus Sclopeticum).
He was later admitted to Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond and died at the
General Hospital No 2, Lynchburg on July 17, 1862.
