About Nancy Brittain (Neal)
She was the daughter of John M. and Rebecca Neal. Born in Aberville, District South Carolina November 28th, 1822. She was married to Wm. P. Brittain near White Plains in Benton County, Alabama on the 28th Day of June, 1839 by the Rev. Christopher Kelley.
Mrs. Nancy Belton Brittain was beautiful, accomplished, kind and affectionate.
In her early years, she embraced religion and joined the Bapitst Church and remained in that communion until her marriage. She then joined the Methodist Church. With her, Christianity was a living principle and a dying support. It was not a Sunday show, a flickering of a day, it was stern constant reality that shed a light softly along her pathway.
