About Nancy Durand
She was probably a daughter of one of the two McLean men who signed a pledge in Orange County, New York supporting American rights and liberties in 1774:
- Neal McLean, in Newburgh Precinct
- John McLean, in Cornwall Precinct (1775)
John MacLean, was a general in the Revolutionary War. Nancy was born 10 years before his marriage and is not among his known children.
Nancy probably moved with her adult children from Orange County, New York to Bradford County, Pennsylvania about 1830, along with the McWhorter and probably other Orange County families.
