Naomi Kathryn Holsopple

ARCHBOLD -- Naomi K. Holsopple, 89, Archbold, died early Wednesday morning, April 23, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold. She was born Sept. 9, 1918, near Thomas Mills, Pa., the daughter of John and Pearl (Thomas) Alwine. In 1936, she married Alvin Holsopple, who died in 1994. She was a homemaker, a housekeeper and a tour guide at Sauder Village. She was a volunteer quilter at Sauder Village and a member of Central Mennonite Church, near Archbold. Surviving are six sons, David (Aldine) of Wauseon, Paul (Pauline) of Fort Wayne, Thomas (Marcia) of West Unity, James (Sandy) and Mark (Connie) of Archbold and John (Cindy), West Jefferson, N.C.; two daughters, Mary (Robert) Miller of Archbold and Martha (Mark) Miller, Boswell, Pa.; a brother, Lowel (Bernice) Alwine, Hollsopple, Pa.; three sisters, Reda Kaufman of Boswell, Edna Kaufman of Hollsopple, Pa., and Ida (Sam) Holsopple, Pettisville; and 26 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a brother, Walter Alwine; four sisters, Leora Kaufman, Mary Alwine, Ivie Short and Amy Cable; and a great-grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Central Mennonite Church, near Archbold, with Pastors Bill Holsopple, Jeffrey Smith and Charles Gautsche officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold. Preferred memorials are to the church.
