According to Colonial Families of the United States of America, Volume III, page 582, Richard Sylvester I, was born in England; and had come to Weymouth, and was admitted as a freeman on October 19, 1633. In 1663, he moved to Scituate, Massachusetts, where he was when he passed away. He married Naomi Torrey in circa 1632; who was likely the sister of Capt. William Torrey.
The children of Richard and Naomi were listed as, Lydia; John; Peter; Joseph; Daniel; Elizabeth; Richard; Naomi; Israel; Hester; and Benjamin.
Baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, April 14, 1650.
