DIOKNO, Narciso - Lieutenant; Sergeant-at-Arms, National Assembly; res., 106 Loreto, Sampaloc, Manila.

Born in Taal, Batangas, on Feb. 8, 1894; son of Rafael Diokno and Victoria Martinez; educated at the Instituto Burgos, where he obtained his A.B. degree in 1916, and studied law in the defunct Rizal University and later at the University of Manila, 1916-20; was commissioned First Lieutenant (Federalized), 7th Regiment, Philippine National Guard, First Division, U.S. Army, 1918-19; with Philippine National Bank, 1920-29; assistant secretary to Acting Speaker A. de las Alas, 1933; and Sergeant-at-Arms, House of Representatives, 1933-35; was also Sergeant-at-Arms, Constitutional Convention, 1934-35; and Sergeant-at-Arms, National Assembly, since 1935 to date.

The newly elected Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives, Mr. Narciso Diokno, was born on February 8, 1897 in Taal, Batangas. After finishing the high school course, he pursued the law course and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws.

Mr. Diokno is not a newcomer in the House of Representatives. He was the Sergeant-at-Arms when Senator Paredes was the Speaker of the House. He held that position until the time of Speaker Perez. Later he resigned. He was unanimously elected Sergeant-at-Arms at the opening session of the House of Representatives on January 25, 1954.

He is married and lives with his family at 141 Abreau, San Miguel, Manila.
