HIS MOTHER: “Jerusha Fowkles” was born on 6-26-1747 @ Amelia Co., VA into a large, wealthy family. She died on 6-28-1789 @ Lunenburg Co., VA. Her parents’ plantation was called “Old Field” & later renamed “Hyde Park” in the 1800’s; it still stands in 2015 & is a home on the historic register.
Jerusha’s Father was "John A. Fowlkes" (1722 VA—1799 VA). His Parents were 'Gabriel Fowlkes I & Elizabeth Fowlkes'.
Jerusha’s Mother was “Sarah Jennings" (1730 VA—1782 VA). Her parents were ‘Col. William Henry Jennings’ (1676-1775) & ‘Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam Jennings’ (1704-1774).
