About Nathaniel Briscoe, Sr.
In 1640, Nathaniel Briscoe (original spelling; later, this line of the family dropped the "r") came to the colonies from Litttle Messenden, Buckinghamshire, England. In 1615, he'd married Elizabeth Honor in Little Messenden.
Little Missenden is a village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is in the Chiltern Hills, ~ 3 miles southeast of Great Missenden and 3 miles west of Amersham. The single church in the village is St. John the Baptist parish church, where its likely both Nathaniel and Elizabeth Honor were baptized and married. (Need to verify.) A fun fact about Little Messenden: you can see what it looks like today on TV!
I found the following at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Missenden accessed on January 31, 2015: "The village has been used in many films and television programmes over the years, particularly as one of the more frequent ITV Midsomer Murders filming locations. "Missenden Murders" was considered as a possible title for the series.[3] The Red Lion pub has appeared in three episodes.[4] Despite being a small village, in recent times it has also hosted acclaimed comedy and arts festivals."
