When Nathaniel Cole was born [1][2] in 1673 in Swansea, Massachusetts, his father, John, was 36 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 27.

He married Elizabeth Eddy [3] in 1700 in his hometown. She was the daughter of Caleb Eddy and Elizabeth Bullock, born 20 Apr 1678 in Swansea, Massachusetts, and died after 1713.

They had three known children [4] during their marriage.

He died on March 18, 1745, in his hometown [5]at the age of 72, and was buried there.

The will of Nathaniel Cole of Swanzey, yeoman, is dated 28 May 1744 and was proved (15?) March 1744/5.[6] It mentions:

  • wife Elizabeth
    • son Caleb Cole
    • daughter Patience, the wife of Aaron Kingsley
    • eldest son Nathaniel Cole, who is said to be non compos mentis, and his wife Sarah
      • grandsons Barnard, Ephraim, and Nathaniel Cole, "the sons and only children of my sd. son Nathaniel by Sarah his wife."

Executor was his grandson Barnard.

Sarah the wife of my son Nathaniel. Grsons. Barnard, Ephraim & Nathaniel Cole the sons & only childn. of my son Nathaniel by Sarah is wife. Grson. Bernard Cole to be Exec. Witns: Benjamin Cole, Daniel Salsbury, Andrew Cole & Benjamin Herrington (10:489/90).
