About Nathaniel Fuller, I
Descendant of Mayflower passengers Francis Billington, Francis Eaton and Samuel Fuller
Nathaniel was a major Plymouth area gravestone carver. Other Plymouth area carvers learned from him and/or imitated his work. http://www.capecodgravestones.com/carvers/fuller.html has more information including links to gravestones in his style. A major Plymouth area carver was Nathaniel Fuller. Born on November 14, 1687, he became best known for his crude winged heads that were transitional between earlier winged skulls and more realistic winged heads or winged portraits. Many of his stones can be found at Plympton, Rochester, Sandwich, and Barnstable, Massachusetts. Fuller, by profession was not only a carver but a housewright, (builder of houses) building chimneys and house and barn foundations. ( P.Davis)
