About Nathaniel Lamson, Sr.

+167 Nathaniel /5 Lamson (Thomas /4,Thomas /3, John /2, William1), was born at Hamilton, Mass., March 12, 1748, and died at Boylston, Mass., March 20, 1822. He married (1) Mindwell Brigham, daughter of Levi and Susanna Brigham of Shrewsbury, Jan. 2, 1777, at Westboro, Mass. (Int. of m. Dec. 3, 1776) ; she was born at Westboro, Mass., Feb. 7, 1746, or Aug. 18, 1760, and died March 26, 1785; he married (2) Elizabeth Miller of Westboro, Mass. (Int. of m. Jan. 26, 1786, at Westboro) ; she was born in 1748 and died at Boylston, Mass., at the age of 86, Sept. 14, 1834.

Nathaniel Lamson was a farmer, and he lived in Westboro, Mass. His farm was originally a part of Lancaster. In 1780, he was one of several who signed a petition to be annexed to the town of Shrewsbury, which was done in 1786. Part of Shrewsbury, the North Precinct, afterwards became the town of Boylston, Mass. The old homestead has been in the family until recently, when it was taken by the Metropolitan Water Company of Boston. A part of the large farm will ultimately be submerged, but not the site of the homestead.

In 1780 Nathaniel Lamson was one of the petitioners that requested part of Lancaster be annexed to the town of Shrewsbury. Some of the petitioners within the Lancaster bounds had already joined the Shrewsbury North Precinct for parochial purposes. .. This area became part of Boylston in 1786.
