Nathaniel Moore's name appears on the Southold rate lists in 1683 for £49 and in 1685 for £32. In his father's lifetime the father deeded to Nathaniel much land, sundries, and a sloop. His will, Southold Apr 19 1698 probated Aug 26 1698, mentions wife Sarah, son Nathaniel, father Thomas, and five daughters. Moore's Index says he may have had a son Jonathan. Nathaniel is the son of Thomas & Martha (Youngs) Moore and was born Jul 3 1642 and died Apr 30 1698; he married Sarah Jackson. Sarah Moore is called a widow in a list of inhabitants of Southold in the late 17th century. [2]

Last Will & Testement

Robert Jackson wrote his will 25 May 1683.[45] His main heir was his son John Jackson, who was named sole Executor and Administrator. Robert added the somewhat curious advice that his estate be administered "immediately after my decease, lest it be embezzled away."

"I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Jackson, five mares, and my Cloake and five pounds in silver money and to his wife a hood and scarfe, and to every one of his children a piece of eight. I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah, the wife of Nathaniel Moore, two cows, and every one of her children a piece of eight." (portion of whole will)
