Nathaniel settled in Southbury, part of Woodbury, Connecticut. With wife Deborah he joined the church there on 26 February 1714. He bought land in New Milford on 3 January 1720, and sold land there on 6 March 1721/1722.
On 29 March 1714 he deeded land to his brother Epharim Sanford, and on 9 December 1720 he deeded to brother Samuel Sanford.
His will is dated 20 April 1765, proved September 1771. It mentions wife Bethiah; sons Nathaniel, Zachariah and Joseph; daughters Mary wife of Andrew Coe, Hannah wife of Elisha Peck, Susanna wife of William Guthree, Phebe wife of Abijah Tomlin; and grandson Ebenezer; children of daughter Sarah Old and heirs of daughter Deborah, deceased.
On 14 December 1757 Joseph Sanford, Andrew Coe and wife Mary, Elisha Peck and wife Hannah, William Guthree and wife Susannah, all of Woodbury, Connecticut, gave to Zachariah Sanford of New Milford, Connecticut, a deed of 24 acres of land in New Milford, which lately belonged to Stebbins Sanford of New Milford, deceased.
On 28 February 1734/1735 Nathaniel Sanford Jr. and his brother Ebenezer, both of Woodbury, Connecticut, deeded to Samuel Bristol of Milford land in Milford left them by their grandfather Nathaniel Ferrend in his will.
