The Coffey family picnic at Aumsvllle last week brought out much of Oregon's pioneer history. Nebuzaradan Coffey, this head of the family, was bom in North Carolina in- 1790, and removed with his family to Oregon fn 1848, settling in Marion county, where they resided during the remainder of their lives, Mr. Coffey passing ajway in 1867 and his wife thirteen years later. The fruit of their marriage was eleven children, the eldest of whom was married in 1834 to Dr. Joseph M. Blickerby and doted in 1885 after having raised a family of ten children, among whom are T. R. and A. F. BJaokerby or suverton Dr. J. M. Blaekertoy crossed the plains .Tn 1848 and died at his home In Silverton thirty years later. Upon arrval in Oregon he took up a donation land claim near Silvertom and was the first man in the territory to make final proof, his notification being No. 1. A daughter of the pioneer Coffey family (Martha) married Wm. Porter in 1849. Two of the three children bom to her, H. C, Porter and Mary J. Van Behren of Aumsvtllle, are ' living. She also survives, being the only one of N. Coffey's flamjly now living. She will be 84 years of age oij, the 70h of the present month. Mairtha BUyeu and ECanar B Tucker of Aumsville are children of Mary Coffey, who died In 1870. Another sister, Sarah, who married Wm. Porter in 1840 and cVled edjght years later, was the first person buried In the Aumsville cemetery She was the mother of J. H. Porter and S. R. Porter and Elizabeth N. Read of Aumevtlle. Catherine Coffey, another daughter of the pioneer couple, was married to Stephen Porter and Noncy Magers of Sttlverrton Is her daughter. A son, Germain Coffey, has two sons living in Marlon county, D. D. of Salem and John C. of Turner. School was Uaught On the first building erected In Sttverton, a log house, toy Elizabeth Coffey, a daughter of N. Coffey, who married Wm. Bristow. She also taugihit In the Waldo neighborhood at the Shipp school house near where Macleay is now located. One of the sons-in-law of the Coffey family who attended the family reunion was Wm. Porter, who was born Ln 1812. He was chfef clerk of the first territorial legislative assembly that met in Oregon City In 1849. He was county commissioner at the time the count employed John Minto and two other men to view out the Minto Pass through the Cascade Mountains. Of Nebuzaradan and Elizabeth Coffey's children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and their families now living there are 136.

Council met pursuant to adjournment. Present—-as on yesterday.
On motion of Mr. Humphrey, the Council proceeded to the election of a Door-keeper. Messrs. Waymire and McKean were appointed tellers.
The votes having been counted, it appeared that Nebuzaradan Coffey was duly elected, who was thereupon qualified, and entered upon the discharge of his duties.

Elizabeth Easley Coffey Birth: Aug. 15, 1790
Elizabeth Easley was the wife of Nebuzaradan Coffey and the daughter of William and Sarah Easley. We do not know where she was born, but they were living in Kentucky at the time of her first child's birth, when she was 21. She and her husband took the Oregon Trail in 1848, coming overland in a covered wagon. They settled in Marion County with some of their children whom they had accompanied on the journey.
