Nellie Angeline Elliott

MT. HOPE - Elliott, Nellie Angeline was born on Oct. 25, 1917 in Wichita, Kansas. Her parents were Levi and Ellen Phillippe. Upon the death of her mother, Robert and Jesse Baird of Mount Hope adopted Nellie. On March 29, 1936, she married Loren Elliott of Valley Center and they became the parents of seven children; Angeline, Bob, Richard, Rayle, Bill, Joe and Jon. As the children married, nineteen grandchildren came to know and love Grandma Nellie. Later 25 great grandchildren came to know and also love Great Grandma Nellie. Nellie was a member of Riverlawn Christian Church. Nellie was preceded in death by her sisters, Geneva Johnson, Bertha Clark and Hazel Faulkner, five brothers and two grandsons, Gary Cupps and Ryan Elliott. Nellie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Loren of Mt. Hope, sister, Ruth Blankenship of Indianapolis, IN, daughter and son in law, Angie and Jay Bond of Wichita, sons and daughters in law, Bob and Cathy, Rayle and Carlene, Joe of Mt. Hope, Richard and Patricia of Kearney, NE, Bill and Jon of Wichita, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a loving mother and grandmother to all! Visitation Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St., services, Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Riverlawn Christian Church, burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials to the Mt.
