Nelson and Annie Were living with Francois in the Yale area per the 1891 Census. Nelson married Annie Green on 19 June 1881 in the Lillooet area and later settled around Savona Lake and the Kamloops Area. A Canada 1881 census has Annie in the household of an Andrew Green at age 9. The marriage document of Nelson and Maggie Green, states Andrew and Annie were the parents of Maggie. However, Nelson married Annie who was 9 years old and not Maggie. Annie Green is Listed as Swedish. Annie is anything but Swedish. She is First Nation, possibly Shuswap, or as some speculate American Chippewa Indian. Nelson's brother Francis is listed as a 1/2 Breed on his death registration. Nelson would have been a 1/2 Breed also, who married a full blood. Some relatives have been listed in the 1908 census of the White Earth Agency removal of the Chippewa, from the Mississippi Valley in Minnesota. Nelson and Annie went to Massachusetts in 1883, to stay with relatives, during the illness and death of their first Child Flora who died of Cholera. Find A Grave
