Nehemiah was elected sherriff of Fayette Co in 1902. He was killed by a drunken man named Ed Jackson at Montgomery while arresting him. Newspaper article and picture of him in notes.

He was employed at Fire Creek by coal operator Harry Caperton and was a saloon keeper according to the 1900 Fayette County Census. He was elected sheriff of Fayette County in 1902. He was shot and killed by Ed Jackson at Montgomery while trying to arrest Jackson in the middle of a riot situation. There was a battle between the miners and the Baldwin-Felt Detectives. Jackson was sentenced to 18 years in the penitentiary, but only served 6 years and was then pardoned. Nehemiah first married Nellie Davis and then married Elizabeth Evans on 18 Aug 1870 in Boone County. Nehemiah and Elizabeth had a son named Jesse Daniel.

Nehemiah, son of Nehemiah was born about 1848 and died on November 10, 1904.
