Moved to Ceredo Abt 1924 and owned a grocery store. 1930Census list occupation as a carpenter for a power plant. Built a church in Huntersville, WV on Rt 39. Death Certificate list his mother's maiden name as Sara Boogen and his father as John A. Clarkson though there is no evidence that Sara Jane ever married and tradition holds that he was the illegitimate son of Will Roake. Family Bible, census and military records show his last name as Clarkston and death certificate as Clarkson. His address was 242 2nd St. East Ceredo, WV.
