Nicholas married Marie Anne Didier (Monniér) on February 16, 1832 in Ettueffont Haut, Belfort, France. Together they had the following children: nn Didier; Marie Pepiot (Didier); Diele Didier; Marie Catherine Cordonnier (Didier); Stpehen Etienne Didier; Francois Valbert Didier; Eteinne Nicolas Didier; Jean Claude Didier; Nicolas Didier, Jr.; Marie Louise Monnin (Didier); Justine "Gustin" (Didier).

(1883) NIOHOLAS DIDIER deceased was born in France in 1807. He married Miss Mary Monnier in 1834 who was born in France in 1809. Mr and Mrs Didier settled in their native country remained until December 1851 when they with a family of eight children started for America landing in New Orleans. From there they continued their journey northward until February 22 1852 when they reached Shelby County Ohio and located in Loramie Township on the west half of the northeast quarter of section 15 where they passed the remainder of their days. Mrs Didier died July 31 1875 and Mr D May 31 1881.

• Nicholas was a farmer.
• <French Ancestors> states that only 6 children were registered on the voyage. Nicholas and Justine are missing, though we know they lived to adulthood and were born before 1851.
• They landed in New Orleans on Feb 3, 1852 on board the ship Minnesota.
• Nicolas was naturalized as a US citizen April 5, 1854 in Shelby County, Ohio. Marie Anne did not know how to read or write.
• His brother Thiebaud also came to the US. While Nicholas's family mostly stayed in the Dayton area, Thiebaud's children settled in many parts of Ohio and Indiana.
