Son of John Osborn and Jane Claypool Osborn. Married Mary J. Johnson 15 Apr 1830 in Henderson County, NC. This couple were the parents of Nathan Lafayette Osborn, Washington Hardy Osborn, Ann Osborn Hill, Margaret Osborn Harper, Sarah Osborne, Samuel Claypool Osborne, Jonathan C. Osborn, James S. Osborn and John Johnson Osborn.
Rev Nicholas Osborn was a merchant/storekeeper/court clerk and farmer.
He entered service for the CSA on June 25, 1861 and remained until surrender. He returned home and farming on May 21, 1864.
