Nicholas Rowe

Vivian, J. L. (John Lambrick). The Visitations of the County of Devon: Comprising the Herald's Visitations of 1531, 1564, & 1620. The pedigree of this source indicated that he was buried on 13 Aug 1667. Hmm... The year 1667 is wrong as proven by a non-indexed primary source RE burials. See FamilySearch: England, Devon, Parish Registers, 1538-1912 - 004635103. The attached page from the parish record shows burial as follows: “1668 August…13 | Nicholas Rowe Gent”. Going back from this page to find the page showing the parish or town of burial, one sees "Lamerton".
The Visitations of the County of Devon does indicate that Nicholas married an Elizabeth, but it does not indicate a maiden or surname.

Unless a record can be found to confirm his residency (of Lamerton or Tavistock) in the marriage record to the assumptive wife Elizabeth Bewford, its folly to presume it. None of the following data sources include an original document image:

The Wikitree profile for Nicholas Rowe does not show a day of death as reasoned by extant sources. The curator's page agrees with this person-profile as to the year and month of Nicholas death. Though Visitations give a different year for burial, the curator concurs with the day and month of burial.

Nicholas Rowe did not cross the pond to British Colonial America, spend time their until a spouse died, and then returned to from Portsmouth, Vermont to live out his last years in Lamerton for burial. Geneanet via Ancestry.com is not to be trusted along with many online ancestral trees.
