Nicholas was born in Exeter England Or Ide, England to William Satterly (m x2 each wife Elizabeth, 2 sons W'm) and Elizabeth (Born in Devon, England 1614) he was the second son of Rev. William Satterlee of Dorset Co. England and emigrated from Devonshire to America on 18 Mar 1669 and settled at Westerly, Rhode Island. He was a tax freeman in 1680. He married Mary Gull 1650-1705 in 1697 at Richmond, Washington County, Rhode Island [5] & had Penelope born Nov. 15, 1698; John born February 21, 1701/2, and Mary born October 21, 1703.[4]
