Nicholas Wright, son of Nicholas Wright and Ann Beaupre, was born about 1534 at Outwell, Norfolk, England, and died Feb 1592 at about age 58 at Barton Turf, Norfolk, England. [2][3]

Nicholas married Ellen Gylbert 18 Feb 1559 at Norfolk.[1]; his first wife. Ellen Gilbert (or Gylbert), daughter of William Gylbert and his wife Ellen Furford, was born about 1535 in Barton Turf, Norfolk, England. She died at Outwell, Norfolk on 10 Jan 1582.

Ellen and Nicholas had two children:

Nicholas Wright. Born after 18 Feb 1559 in Barton, Norfolk, England. Married 1) Margaret Jeffers 2) Margaret Nelson
William Wright. Born about 1564. Married Elizabeth Jeffers.
After Ellen’s death, Nicholas Wright married again, on 25 February 1589 at Outwell. His second wife was Margaret Alysander (1527-1606) widow of John Raspoole. No children of this marriage..

After many months of diligent work, the result was quite encouraging, and a clue appeared to have been found establishing an accurate connecting link. In the Parish Register of St. Michael's Church, at Barton Turf, county Norfolk, among the earliest records of marriages, it states that on February 18, 1559, Nicholas Wright and Ellen Gylbert were married, and that Ellen died January 10, 1582.

The Register shows that Nicholas Wright subsequently, on January 25, 1589, married Margerie Alysander, relict of John Raspoole, who married Margarie, July 4, 1560, and died July 18, 1588.

The Register of this church shows the names of two children of Nicholas and Ellen Wright,

1. Nicholas and
2. William,

but none of the second marriage.

Ellen Gylbert, or Gilbert, was a daughter of William Gylbert, Vicar of Barton Turf, 1517-1531.
