About Nickolas Ludwig Glaser
He used to show 16 mm films to people for a nickel for adults and a penny for kids. He'd go to Stanton and Solen and other small towns and rent their town halls out on weekends to show movies. In 1947 he bought a theater in Sauk Rapids, MN. Later, he traded the theater for a house in Fargo. (Moved to West Fargo for a while before moving back to Bismarck.) He did mechanical work and carpentry in addition to painting. Most of the work was done in the large garage he built. He was the first painter in Bismarck to do spray painting. Worked for himself with help from Casper (starting when Cass was 11). Worked at the Bismarck theater as a projectionist and as a night guard at the Mandan Oil Refinery while it was being built.
