  • Dumisane Shabangu (37), who said in court her surname is Mabusa, and Thulani Ndlovu (33) were sentenced to 22 years imprisonment on 28th March 2011.
  • The State claimed that a Ms. Dikeledi Vinia Sekhale, a prostitute, took Meyer that evening as a client to her room in a building in Koos de la Rey Street, Pretoria North. The accused allegedly kicked open the bedroom door, overpowered Meyer and Sekhale and killed Meyer. His body was loaded into his Hilux pick-up truck and left in the field. The truck is still missing.
  • This is an accusation that the family strongly refute. Meyer Jr. said earlier that the family does not believe that Nic was involved with a prostitute. "We suspect he was kidnapped somewhere and taken to the room and strangled."
  • Judge Vivian Tlhapi said yesterday that Meyer was a respected businessman according to evidence. Tlhapi also said she did not agree with a defence lawyer's statement that Meyer "recklessly exposed himself" when he was with Sekhale.
