In 1652, Nicolas is probably in New France where he handles business. In 1665 he was warden of Notre-Dame de Quebec. Returned to France before 1668, he signed in Paris, March 18, 1669, his marriage contract with Joan Gaudi; their first child was baptized at Quebec 19 December 1669. He surrendered in dowry to his daughter Frances Theresa, May 10, 1687, on the occasion of her marriage to François-Marie Renaud d'Avena Desméloïzes. It also acquired the manor which bore the names of Dombourg of Pointe-aux-Trembles de Neuville, abutting the west of Maur. It was bought by Jean-François Bourdon Dombourg, November 12, 1680, and it is magnified, April 27, 1683, by a grant from Le Febvre de La Barre and M. Meulles. This area also goes to the Renaud Avene Desméloïzes after the death of the grandfather. Nicolas Dupont was a personage of his time in sight. He has the confidence of Frontenac [Buade], but without being his creature. In August 1685, the intendant of Meulles, forced to spend the winter in Acadia, delegated his powers during his absence. In June 1704, Dupont contributed his money to a shipping company run by Jean Léger de la Grange against the English in Newfoundland. 5 October 1713, he gives the congregation of sisters a half an acre of land area "in order to serve a mission for the education of young girls in his lordship" Pointe-aux-Trembles. Quand he goes to the age of 84, Smith is the dean of the Higher Council. His wife had predeceased him, 16 September 1707. Françoise-Thérèse addition, combined with Desméloïzes already mentioned, another daughter, Marie-Maleleine, marries, she joins Paul Le Moyne Maricourt, October 29, 1691 in Quebec City.
