About Nissel Rachel Schönberg

Nissel Rachel comes from the well-known Kamienica family. They were called this due to the fact that they built the first 2-story apartment in Chrzanow (Kamienica means apartment in Polish). Her family was well-respected and had a lot of influence on the city's Jewish community. They were known to put Torah as the essence of life, which greatly influenced Nissel Rachel's character. She was a very bright woman with a lot of knowledge on Jewish subjects. People often went to her for questions pertaining to Judaism and more.

Her first husband was Mojzesz Lewek Rauchwerger, with whom she had four children. Later on she married Chaskel Weinfeld of Zborov, Slovakia with whom she had two children, Mojzesz and Jakob Izak.
