6. Obituaries, Unkown Newspaper, date and publication. "OLD CITIZEN DEAD An old resident of the city passed away last night in the death of Norval Melton at his home on east Eleventh street at 11 o'clock. Mr. Melton, who was popularly known as "Doc", was a carpenter here for 22 years coming from Bloomfield in 1886. He was 56 years old. He leaves a wife and 8 children, Bessie, Harry, Goldie, Donald, at home, Bert Melton at Linton, William at Chicago, Mrs. Ida Ashcraft at Linton and Mrs. Clyde Jenkins of this city. His death was caused by peritonitis. The funeral is to be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the Knight school house, north of town.April 21, 1908."

"DEATH OF NORVILLE MELTON After being sick only nine days, Norville Melton, called by his friends "Doc" Melton, died at 11 o'clock Sunday night at his home on east Eleventh street of obstruction. He leaves a wife and several children. He was born 59 years ago in Salt Creek township and moved to the city seven years ago where he followed carpentering. Funeral will be held at ten o'clock Tuesday at the Knight school house.April 21, 1908."
